Privacy & your data
Updated 15 October 2026
DATALingo saves your learning so you can practise a little and return later. This page explains the current beta features.
Your account and learning
Your account uses an email address and password. DATALingo uses Supabase for account authentication and private learning storage, Resend for account emails, and Cloudflare for website hosting. These providers process the information needed to deliver those services, including technical request records.
Learning saves on your device first. Confirmed accounts sync learning progress and project inputs by default. An earlier choice to turn sync off stays off. You can review or change this in More → DATALingo account.
Synced project inputs can include your practice code, queries, formulas and fictional workspace files. They do not include your account password or payment access. A saved draft is not proof that a project was passed; DATALingo checks the work again.
When offline, changes can wait on the device until the connection returns. Check the account status before relying on another device to have the latest work. Certificates and rewards remain separate from personal notes.
Your private notes
Notes sync separately with your signed-in account. Titles, text, topics and note links are stored with that account. They are not sent to an AI service or used to grade your answers.
Offline edits wait on the device. If two versions conflict, both stay available for you to choose. Moving a note to Deleted notes keeps a recoverable copy; it does not permanently erase the text.
You can download active notes from My notes → More. The Privacy & data screen offers a separate JSON export of this device's saved learning records and notes, including pending, conflicting and deleted note copies. Unsaved editor text and records that exist only on another device or the server are outside that device export.
Problem reports and comments
Report a problem lets you write what happened and what you expected. Reports save on this device. You choose whether to copy, download, share or email them. Saving alone does not send a report to DATALingo.
A report includes only what you write, its date, the app version and the learning-path/task identifiers shown with it. It does not automatically collect your answer, project files, personal notes or sign-in credentials. Keep passwords and real customer data out of reports.
Older task comments have their own saved/sent status. Some stay on the device and need exporting from More → Your comments. A sent status appears only after a delivery acknowledgement.
Keeping or removing data
Ordinary Free learner accounts and saved progress are intended to remain after beta. Signing out does not erase the account, cloud records or device caches. Clearing browser/app storage can remove local work that has not synced.
Permanent account deletion is not yet available in the app. Restoring or deleting a note, signing out and clearing a device are different actions. None of them is a confirmed account-erasure request.
Practice boundaries
Use the supplied fictional data. DATALingo's Git, spreadsheet, DAX and Office automation activities use bounded practice environments. They do not connect to your personal repository, employer database or Microsoft workbook. Hosted AI coaching, real advertising and paid purchases are not enabled by these beta features.
